bio

Fê (they/she) is a Brazilian interdisciplinary artist working across filmmaking, photography, creative writing, painting, artists’ books, and installation. Their practice explores the intersections of social, political, and cultural narratives, with a particular focus on Latinx studies, LGBTQ+ experiences, sociology, psychology, and questions of time and space. Through vibrant imagery and layered storytelling, Fê’s work invites reflection on overlooked voices.

Fê’s filmmaking and photography have received multiple awards and have been presented at international film festivals and exhibitions in Brazil, Italy, Sweden, and Panama, with additional recognition from the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago. Alongside their studio practice, Fê is deeply committed to community-based and public art. They have founded art initiatives supporting marginalized communities and have created public artworks, emphasizing accessibility, collective care, and dialogue in shared spaces.

Fê holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2023), where they were honored as a “New Outstanding Artist,” and an Associate Degree in Studio Arts with Honors and as Valedictorian from Borough of Manhattan Community College (2020). Currently based in Brooklyn, Fê continues to create work that bridges art, environment, and public engagement.
