THE CREATORS
This is our story in one sentence: two international students meet in the U.S., find true love, and disappoint everyone who thought they would marry a male citizen (jokes aside). Here is more about our creative journeys:
(they/she) is a Brazilian interdisciplinary artist working across filmmaking, photography, creative writing, painting, artists’ books, and installations. Their art aims to provoke thought and highlight overlooked issues, particularly focusing on social, political, and cultural topics related to Latinx studies, the LGBTQ+ experience, sociology, psychology, and temporal-spatial philosophy. Fê’s filmmaking and photography work have garnered numerous awards, with films showcased at international festivals in Brazil, Italy, Sweden, and Panama, and recognized at the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago. They have also founded art initiatives for minorities and created public art for the Bronx community. Fê holds a Bachelor's in Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2023), where they were awarded as the “New Outstanding Artist,” and an Associate’s in Photography with Honors from Borough of Manhattan Community College (2020).
Fê Carvalho

Immersed in Afro-Peruvian music and film scores from a young age, and studied music theory and composition at the National Peruvian Conservatory of Music. They are particularly dedicated to addressing social issues, with a strong focus on LGBTQIA+ themes.
